Please talk to your teacher, regarding the appropriate shoes for each type of class.

Here are some general guidelines about the various styles of dance shoes:

Tap - For the dance Recital, all students will need tan colored tap shoes. In Pre-Dance* and beginner Tap classes, you may have any style tap shoe. You may have any color shoes throughout the year, as long as they are tan for the Recital.  For the more advanced tap classes, please see your teacher for the correct style of tap shoes.

Jazz - All jazz classes will typically require black jazz shoes.  Young beginner jazz classes may wear black ballet slippers.  Older, more advanced classes will wear black jazz shoes.

Hip Hop - each teacher will determine what type of shoes will be worn in the particular class.

Lyrical/Ballet - For beginner ballet classes, students will need pink ballet slippers.  All ballet students should check with their teacher before buying ballet shoes.

*For Pre-Dance Classes - in addition to tap shoes (see note above) students will also need ballet slippers (any style & color is fine).
